Brand
This page is the docs-site continuity note for VendorCAD Brand Guidelines v2.0.0. It does not replace the governed PDF; it records the rules this surface must follow so chrome does not drift back to the default Syntax cool-blue skin or the v1 plate monogram.
Mark
The mark is three stacked chevrons with no plate. The top two strokes are Graphite #202020. The bottom stroke is Ember #ff682c. Do not put the chevrons on a rounded charcoal tile, do not rebuild a VC monogram, and do not add a drop shadow or glow.
The wordmark is camel VendorCAD in Inter 400. Do not set the lockup in Inter Tight, and do not invent a second logotype. Clear space is the mark height ÷ 8. Prefer the mark alone in compact chrome (header, favicon).
Color
| Token | Hex | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Graphite | #202020 | Ink, links, primary CTA fill, focus |
| Paper / canvas | #ffffff | Page ground, CTA label on Graphite |
| Ash | #efefef | Hairlines, table rules, quiet panels |
| Fog | #f5f5f5 | Raised surfaces, code wells, CTA label alternate |
| Steel | #4d4d4d | Secondary copy |
| Brass | #816729 | Warm supporting metal — never a CTA |
| Ember | #ff682c | Accent / punctuation only |
Type
Display and headings use Inter Tight 400 — the named PolySans substitute until PolySans is licensed and loaded. Body and UI use Inter. Numbers are tabular on Inter. Display headings stay font-weight: 400. Do not promote H1/H2 to 600 or 700 to “fix” hierarchy; use size and Graphite vs Steel instead.
Code and metadata also stay on Inter (tabular). There is no mono identity face on this surface.
Actions
- Primary CTA: Graphite fill, paper or fog label.
- Secondary CTA: Graphite outline, Graphite label.
- Text links: Graphite with an Ember underline or Ember hairline — not a sky chip.
Banned
- The retired Syntax display/mono family (do not load it here).
- V1 logo cyan and action teal as identity or button color.
- Cool-blue Tailwind scales used as brand color (hero washes, link color, bullets, gradient text).
- The old VC plate monogram.
- Ember as a filled button, hero gradient, or body-text color.
Surfaces stay distinct
Brand continuity does not collapse product surfaces. The Website sells. The App governs. The published configurator serves buyers, dealers, and sales. This docs host explains the App; it is not a fourth product.
